Hey all you fantastic followers! Your favorite 44-year-old gamer dad is finally back in action, well, mostly! Let’s just say old Dad here got walloped by pneumonia back in November. Nasty stuff, folks. Thought I kicked it in January, but that sucker came back for a round two like a particularly aggressive gym buddy. Thankfully, it’s finally gone for good (fingers crossed!), although this cough seems determined to be my new annoying roommate.
But hey, enough with the health woes! You’re here for the games, and let me tell you, I’m itching to get back to streaming regularly. Now, there’s been a bit of a shift in the Dad Gamer HQ content schedule. You see, for the past two years, it’s been pretty much all Fortnite, all the time. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy a good ol’ Battle Royale, but it was time for a change.
Remember how I dabbled in GTA RP a while back? Yeah, that was fun, but honestly, I felt like a total noob fumbling around Los Santos. Well, consider me a noob no more! After some serious studying (okay, maybe a lot of YouTube tutorials), I managed to snag a spot on an AMAZING server – Redline RP! We’re talking the big leagues here, folks. Elanip, Treyten, Lauren, Havoc, Elite… all the RP rockstars I watch on YouTube are there!
Speaking of Los Santos, the city’s been through a rough patch. Remember that whole volcano incident that wiped everything out? Well, they just released version 1.5, which takes place two years after the apocalypse. The city’s booming again, but let me tell you, things are different.
My character, Jack Radge, is a prime example. Back in Scotland, he was a successful businessman, the director of a fancy whisky company called Monster Malt. But his partner turned out to be a gambling addict who emptied the company coffers and skipped town. Thanks, pal! To make matters worse, Jack’s wife wasn’t exactly thrilled with his “risky business” tendencies (understandable, really) and decided to cut her losses. Now, Jack’s left with nothing but the clothes on his back and a one-way ticket to Los Santos, the land of opportunity (supposedly).
Here’s the thing: Los Santos ain’t exactly paved with gold for an ex-businessman with a cough. Jack’s trying his best to stay legit, applying to be a firefighter and a cop even, but the city’s got a way of pushing a good guy towards some bad decisions. Just trying to survive, you know? He’s never been a criminal, just a sharp businessman… with a questionable partner, apparently.
So, will Jack stay on the straight and narrow, or will the neon lights of Los Santos lure him into a life of crime? Tune in to find out! I’ll be streaming my adventures in Redline RP most nights and weekends, so come hang out, see Jack’s journey unfold, and maybe even offer some advice to this struggling ex-businessman. Just remember, no backseat driving… unless it involves navigating a high-speed chase, of course.
